Q: I love how you all are sisters and apart of a group that is blowing up! When did you all decide you wanted to sing and start a group?

A: We've been working on our project for months now, but my sisters and I have been performing and making up songs together since we were younger.

Q: I know that you all are always in the studio working and producing music. Most people think that doing music is all fun and games. Tell us about the hard work that comes with being an artist.

A: It is fun and games because we love what we do but it's also very much so hard work, it doesn't happen over night but the girls and i just stay grounded and continue working.

Q: What is some advice you all would give someone who wanted to be in the music industry?

A: Just keep working and practicing but know what your getting into, what lifestyle your asking for before you pursue it.

Q: Being the daughters of one the most successful R&B artist/producers, how has that influenced your music? What category would you label your music as?

A: We think growing up it kept us musically inclined and driven for the things that we wanted. Our songs have a Pop/Electric sound. They are very different and futuristic! We look forwards to everyone hearing it!!

Q: What are two keys you believe are important to have in order to be successful?

A: Determination and Discipline!

My Trip to Spartan Nation

I go to the best college in the world, Michigan State! I believe we have the best programs, teachers, students, and of course athletes. For the last couple of years, the msu athletic department has given me and my celebrity friends such as, Quincy Brown, Tyler Williams, H. Wood...etc. tours of the historic athletic office. To see behind the scenes of all the hard work our athletes put in is something that I will never forget. We got to see trophies, offices of famous coaches, the cool locker room and so much more!
Also, I am so excited that Coach Izzo is staying at Michigan State! What would it be like without the izzone :) Enjoy the pics.

So many fans, socialites, and celebrities attended to help Q celebrate his release. I was in VIP where all the action went down. This event brought celebrities of all ages. In attendance was Teyana Taylor, lil b sure, David Miranda, Khleo Thomas, Soulja Boy, Jbar, and the SODMG fam!

Right now I am in the process of planning my conference called The Encounter which is May 27-29 in Lansing, MI. This year, young people will learn what it takes to make it in whatever career they choose. I am also working on projects in LA. I am very excited about all the good things that are taking place! The great thing about having working in LA is that I get to live bicoastal! I am from Michigan, and I attend Michigan State University but I also have acting, meetings for superstar nail lacquer, Phone Candi, Style Shoppe, and other projects that I have to travel to LA for! It's like I get the best of both worlds!

So I had the opportunity to interview the talented Brian McKnight Jr. this week. How excited was the Heiress to get an exclusive interview with him. I met Brian on the set of the We Are The World project for Haiti. He is one of the most humble individuals I have met even though he has so much going on for himself. Not only does he sing, but he tours around the world with brother, Niko McKnight and his dad, the renown Brian McKnight, Sr. Well I could go on, but I'll let you get to know Brian on your own.

Heiress: It was so exciting working with you on the We Are The World project! Your voice is beyond amazing. What was your experience like working on the project?

McKnight: Thanks Love! It was great working with you too! My experience while doing this project was simply amazing. I'm still surprised they even asked me to do it out of the many people that could have. I was absolutely honored to get to be a part of it all.

Heiress: So I see you have been traveling with your father on tour! What has the experience on the road been like for you? Where are some of the places you have performed?

McKnight: Wow. Me and my little brother Niko, 17, have been on the road with my dad going on 5 yrs now. Its been such a learning experience from a performing standpoint. I've always loved getting on a stage and singing for people, but to be able to watch my dad every night and take notes on how to talk to a crowd and lead a show has been a blessing. Being that i love traveling, being on tour has taken me places I'd always said I wanted to go. London, Paris, my favorites. Many of the islands. Asia, and Africa last year. If there is a venue, best believe we have played it haha.

Heiress: Let's talk about your style! It's crazy dope! How would you describe your style? What type of style do you like for girls?

McKnight: My style, let's see. I'm real laid back, more of the jeans and a t-shirt kinda guy. But I spice it up with my shoes. Hightops and crazy colors. My little brother has got me into the skinny jean movement as of late, so I've been on my Levis 511's haha. I love cleaning up though. Suits and tuxedos absolutely. A man should have a Suit for every occasion i say. The style I like for girls is Classy, yet unique, she should have her own little twist to it. She can't be afraid to try new looks, keep me guessing.

Heiress: Do you have an album coming out soon? I along with several others will rush to the store to purchase it!

McKnight: Me and Niko actually are planning to drop our Debut self-titled album "McKnight" this summer. It's much different from anything else out there, we are trying to get music back to where it used to be. Real melodies, Strong lyrics. We would much appreciate the support! And you never know maybe we can get you on it! haha

Heiress: Ahh that would be such a fun project to work on with you and Niko! Let's do it! I'm ready as soon as you call! Thank you again Brian for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this interview. Your very talented and I cannot wait for the world to hear your project. I cannot wait to work with you again in the near future.

Soo I came back to LA to work on Young Hollywood's version of "We Are The World" with Chani Christie! I was honored and excited to have the chance to work on this project. It was a way I could give back to those in Haiti. While in LA last weekend for business, I was able to have an early Birthday celebration at Katsuya. All my closest friends and family came to celebrate me. Katsuya is one of the hottest spots to be caught dinning at. This is such a hot spot that paparazzi wait directly outside the door to photograph any celebrities that decide to dine there. This causes for any and everyone to be fashionable, hot, and dressed to impress. I decided to do the "all black everything" theme with a touch of gold! The outfit definitely stole the show with the help of my chunky black and gold Style Shoppe necklace which is totally in for spring 2010 !
Not only did the heiress receive gifts for her birthday, but all the guest received gift bags too! I love to give even when it's my birthday. The Grammys were fantastic this year!! I had the most fabulous weekend in LA! The first post of the week takes you behind the scenes to a Grammy Gifting Suite I attended. This gifting suite was very fashion forward. There were new up and coming designers, singers, actors, as well as stylist! Anybody who is anyone attended the event! My name is Lakeithea Anderson and I am a local fashion blogger in Tennessee. Back in February 2008 I got the chance to attend New York Fashion Week as press for Culture Shock Magazine. When I got the email that we were accepted to come and cover the events, I was in shock! It is every girls dream to walk Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week. When I arrived to New York City, which was my first time ever going to New York, I was so happy to be there. Knowing that I was just a few hours away from attending my very first two fashion shows, which were Ports 1961 and Icodice. As I arrived off the plane I was excited but that excitement died quickly once I learned that our driver had forgotten my cousin Kristain Miller (who at the time was a promoter for Culture Shock Magazine) and I, so we were stuck at the airport....

The next morning I awaken with better thoughts and finally made it up to Bryant Park to get
my press passes. Kristain Miller and I were getting the run around while looking for the place to sign in. Amazingly we finally made it to the destination and despite all the beginning trouble, once inside Bryant Park, I knew I was where I belonged. I can still to this day remember every company inside Bryant Park and where each was located. I quickly made my way around everywhere to meet and greet and also do some networking. After leaving from the inside of Bryant Park all I wanted to do was WORK I didn't want to party or shop, all that was on my mind was emailing and doing phone calls so that I can experience every different area of New York Fashion Week.

My favorite thing about it all was the Fashion Shows. I just could not believe I was there to see all the creativity and inspiration up close and personal. My favorite was Zang Toi and I can recall coming out of the Fashion Show with Culture Editor-In-Chief Tatiana Johnson and seeing PETA there and despite the protest going on I was excited and I knew I made it (great way to an amazing ending). My favorite event was the Ebay closing party.

Being in Tennessee is so different from being in New York but I like to keep the mindset I had in New York. Each day in New York I knew I had to put my A game on and play the part. Now in Tennessee I wake up and no matter if I am going to my college campus to do some work or sitting in my bedroom to work on my own fashion blog, I get prayed up, dressed up, and imagine myself going to work for some big fashion empire and working for clients that I love. It has really helped because I get a lot of work done and my best work done. I continue to make a lot of great connections with different pr firms, designers, and more. I believe in dreaming big and New York Fashion Week has inspired me to dream even bigger!

Who's Finally Famous: He goes by the name of Brandon Washington

Not everyday can you find a 22 year old college student that is successful, has a business, and is famous all at the same time! Well this weekend, The Heiress had the opportunity to interview a guy by the name of Brandon Washington. Not only is he young, but he happens to be the C.E.O of the company Finally Famous, I am proud to say that I am officially apart of Finally Famous! I could go on and on about this guy, but I'll let the interview speak for itself!

The Heiress: So you are the C.E.O. of the company Finally Famous. When and how did you come up with the idea to start this company?

Brandon: Yes I am and soon to be C.E.O of Finally Famous Music Group or something of that nature (laughs). Finally Famous really started to take form in the last few years of high school and well it wasn’t just my idea I just played the leading role. It was me and group of my close friends. We all attended different schools throughout the Metro Detroit area and not to brag or boast, but we were all pretty popular at our given schools. We knew everybody and it seemed like everyone was cool with us and we had good relationships with them (especially the females) (laughs). So once we got of age to throw events we said why not capitalize on our popularity? Also, there were not a lot of quality events people could go to where they didn’t have to worry about fights and things of that nature. So we also wanted to offer something new to people around our age, where they could come out and have a good time without all the nonsense. So we planned and promoted hard for our first event and it was a huge success and the ball kept rolling from there.

The Heiress: What is the meaning behind Finally Famous? Is it only for a certain type of people?

Brandon: The meaning behind “Finally Famous” may sound cliché, but it’s really just that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to and if you work hard and believe you’re the best at your craft or what you do your “Finally Famous”. Anybody can be Finally Famous, no matter if your black, white, Asian, tall, short, or whatever its more so about a mind set.

The Heiress: I hear you have some major people affiliated with your company? Can you tell us a little about that?

Brandon: I mean we have a lot of people who support us and respect what we are trying to do so we are affiliated with many. I really don’t want to get into the name dropping, but of course Big Sean is the first to come to mind when you mention Finally Famous. He is an up and coming artist signed to G.O.O.D Music/Island Def Jam who I believe is on the verge of greatness and much success. He is a humble guy who works hard to be the best or “Finally Famous”. I am not just saying this because he is a good friend of mine either (laughs) he really is DOPE! The Heiress: What are some events that you have done with your company? Any major event's coming up soon?! And am I invited??!!!

Brandon: We have done a variety of events, from parties, private parties, fashion shows, in-stores, to concerts. Probably our biggest event to date was one of our most recent annual events “SchoolzOut”. We had performances by Drake and Big Sean and a special guest appearance by Wale, it was a historic and memorable event. We are working on some major events now, no specific dates yet though. We will keep everybody on the edge of their seats (laughs). Of course your invited!! Your VIP and Finally Famous at that! (laughs)

The Heiress: I know there are young individuals who are asking right now how they can be apart of Finally Famous! How can they become a member? Are there any openings even left!! I mean you guys are blowing up!

Brandon: There is always room for growth! As long as you have a positive mind set and your focused on making progress you can be apart of Finally Famous. The Heiress: You are such a successful young person that is making major moves! I mean I always hear about how you are working on your next business plan, and your only what, 21? So many young people are wanting to be like you! How do you feel about being a good example at such a young age?

Brandon: Well I appreciate the compliment! I believe if you are not busy, you are not important! So I try to stay working on something. I am 21, but I’ll be 22 on October 19th so everybody give me a gift when you see me! (laughs) It’s a beautiful thing that people look up to me and us (Finally Famous) it feels good to know you can have a positive impact on people’s lives. In today’s world many need role models or people to look up to, so I and we embrace it. Matter of fact we are working on starting a high school version of Finally Famous headed by my younger brother Blake and sister Shanice. We want to give back to the youth and keep the movement going with our younger generation. I am still young myself and not perfect, but who is!

October 1, 2009 I was invited to a Private showing at Louis Vuitton at Somerset in Troy, Michigan. It was a charity event for "S.A.Y. DETROIT", which is a foundation that helps Detroit's homeless. The guest of the event included Troy's elite, sports figures, business owners, the owners of somerset mall, author Mitch Albom, the Vice President of Louis Vuitton, and many more! Everyone at the event loved the bag I was carrying because it's so exclusive! There are no more being made actually. A couple of individuals were spotted with other shapes of the bag, but the one I have is the largest and most rare! So I loved that! The Infiniti Essense Concept was also featured. The $2.4 million concept mixed it up with Louis Vuitton luggage! It was the most beautiful piece of art ever! I was also sooooo ecstatic about buying my Louis Vuitton Reversible Belt! When I say hotness, I mean HOTNESS! Take a step into the Louis Vuitton Event for yourself!
